Anagha B shares her expierence with KC MedBridge

Anagha started on her journey with the KC Med Bridge program, driven by a passion for healthcare and a desire to explore medical careers. This program offered her a unique opportunity to gain invaluable experience, observe the inner workings of a medical office, and shadow seasoned professionals.

Anagha shared, "I've learned many skills by just shadowing Dr. Khalifa in the office. I learned that communication is a really big thing, and I feel like that has helped me to show that I need to prioritize communication and being a patient person.

I plan to continue building these skills by communicating with others clearly. By doing this, I can improve my skills and become a better person, hopefully pursuing a career related to healthcare in the future."

One of Anagha's favorite aspects of the program was experiencing the dynamic environment of a doctor's office. The diverse interactions with patients and staff members enriched her understanding of the daily challenges and rewards of a healthcare career. These encounters further solidified her aspirations to pursue a path in the medical field.

Anagha's time with KC Med Bridge has been transformative, reinforcing her commitment to healthcare. Her journey is a testament to the program's ability to inspire and prepare the next generation of medical professionals.

KC MedBridge visits Wildwood Outdoor Learning Center

KC MedBridge founders, Laura and Salma had the amazing opportunity to visit Wildwood Outdoor Education Center! They spoke with some of their camp professionals to learn about nonprofits. They also conversed with counselors about local organizations and spent some time with campers. Thank you Wildwood for this amazing opportunity!!

Trunk or Treat for Breast Cancer

KC MedBridge recently hosted our first event, Trunk or Treat for Breast Cancer, which welcomed over 100 attendees and raised more than $1,000. Funds were collected through various activities, including face painting, a bonfire, and trunk-or-treating. We received generous support from Yafa Café, Teriyaki Madness, Park’s Kitchen, Jerusalem Café, and Melted KC, who contributed donations for the cause.

We were also thrilled to partner with Art for Hearts, a local art school that set up a booth where children created cards for breast cancer patients. Half of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, supporting their mission to aid patients and raise awareness.
